What do we notice acoustically when we move to another country, a new city, an unfamiliar apartment? What sounds accompany us where we live? And how do sounds influence our familiarity with a place? Ears on the move is a cultural participation project for people from different countries of origin. The contributors create audio collages and radio reports on typical listening environments and special sound experiences in their former or current homes.

After the project has already been carried out in five different cantons since 2017, a new project phase will start in Basel in the fall of 2023. A total of three project groups will develop the content for a listening exhibition that will be shown at the Museum der Kulturen Basel from February to April 2024.
